Paul Pogba has returned to the Manchester United training ground after recovering from Covid-19.
The 27-year-old tested positive for COVID-19 last month but reported at United’s Carrington training complex ahead of their Saturday afternoon friendly at Aston Villa.
The illness prevented Pogba from featuring for France in their Nations League games against Sweden and Croatia but he congratulated compatriot Anthony Martial on his performance in the victory against Croatia.
It is unclear whether Pogba will travel to Villa Park for Man Utd’s first game of the season, the scene of his only goal last season, this weekend as he has only just returned to training.
Juan Mata is training at home as he nears the end of his period of quarantine before returning to first-team training.
Mata is one of a handful of first-team squad members yet to report at United’s training ground but according to reports he is quarantining at home after returning from Spain.
It is understood the 32-year-old has had home tests and tested negative for COVID-19.
