Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has played down the seriousness of Hakim Ziyech’s injury, which he sustained during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Brighton.

The Moroccan had a great game on his debut, having a hand in Chelsea’s lone goal. His perfect cross-field pass was flicked to Timo Werner’s by Hudson-Odoi for the German’s first goal for Chelsea.

Ziyech was hugely influential in the match, including being the main taker of set-pieces, before an injury led to his substitution.

After the game, Lampard described it as ‘a little twist to the knee that will have to be assessed’, as per The 5th Stand app.

It took Chelsea less than five minutes to score the opening goal against Brighton with Timo Werner finding the net for the first time in a Chelsea shirt. Brighton equalised from the spot towards the end of the match.
