Chelsea could axe four players in an attempt to raise funds for a move for Declan Rice.
The Blues have been in free-spending mode this summer, blowing their rivals out of the water in the transfer window.
The Stamford Bridge outfit have snapped up six players this summer as Frank Lampard plots an overhaul of the squad.
Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr, and Kai Havertz have all joined for just over £200m.
But they are not done yet and the Blues boss has his sights set on two more arrivals – with one on the way.
Edouard Mendy is set to join imminently from Rennes to compete with Kepa Arrizabalaga for the first-choice goalkeeper.
However, it is West Ham’s Rice that Lampard has made his top target for the remaining weeks in the transfer window.
The England international has been at the centre of his transfer aims for Chelsea as he looks to rejoin his youth club.
The first on his exit list is Jorginho, who had lost his regular spot in the first-team last season and could suffer as a result of the added competition.
Second on the list is Tiemoue Bakayoko. The midfielder spent the whole of last season out on loan and is looking to leave permanently this summer.
The Frenchman has already agreed to join AC Milan but the details are yet to be agreed but it looks likely he will move there on another loan with an option to buy.
Chelsea would also love to find a buyer for Danny Drinkwater but there would be very few suitors to pick up his £100,000-a-week wages after his disastrous spells on loan to Aston Villa and Burnley.
And lastly Ross Barkley. With the arrival of Kai Havertz, it is no down Barkley’s game time will be further limited the season after a difficult last season with the Blues.
