Chelsea target Edouard Mendy is hoping to make a move to Chelsea before the end of the transfer window.

Chelsea have repeatedly made official bids for the Senegalese goalkeeper but his club, Rennes are yet to respond positively.

According to French publication, cited by Tribal Football, the 28-year-old is aware of Chelsea’s interest and is hoping to move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Blues are actively in the market for a goalkeeper who can compete with Kepa for the number one spot this season.

The Spaniard lost the confidence of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard after series of poor performances last season. A move away from the club would have been ideal but no club is willing to match fee and wages.

However, since Chelsea can’t sell or loan his out and the Spain International willing to fight for his position, a move for less expensive goalkeeper like Mendy suits all parties.
