Chelsea have made contact with Rennes over the possibility of signing their goalkeeper, Benjamin Mendy this summer.
According to Football Insider, the blues have held preliminary talks with the French side and are keen to bring the Senegalese star to Stamford Bridge.
The report stated that Rennes want up to £45million for their number one but Chelsea are only willing to pay £22million.
Fews days ago, Telefoot reported that Rennes rejected Chelsea’s initial bid while Football Insider claimed the London club are yet to make a bid for the 28-year-old.
Chelsea are clearly in the market for a new goalkeeper to rival Kepa in goal and have been previously linked with Atletico Madrid’s goalkeeper, Jan Oblak and Ajax’s Andre Onana.
