Former Nigeria youth team star Afeez Aremu has joined Bundesliga 2 side St. Pauli from Norwegian giants, IK Start on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old started his football journey in Nigeria Professional Football League with Rivers United and went on to play for Remo Stars, Sunshine Stars and Akwa United before heading to Ghana where he played for Inter Allies.
A move to Europe came calling and Aremu joined IK Start in the summer of 2018 and went on to make 63 appearances, scoring 5 goals.

His impressive performances caught the eyes of St. Pauli who wasted no time in capturing the Nigerian midfielder to the delight of the club manager Schultz.
“With Afeez, we get an element that we have been missing from the squad,” he said.
“He’s the type of dynamic ‘clearer’ I wanted. He has already played several seasons at a high level and is still capable of development at the same time at his age.”
Aremu, who has played three times for the Nigerian Under-20 team will wear jersey number 14 at the new club.
